Product Description

Our entity has gained huge appreciation in the market by presenting a broad range of Yarn Twist Tester. It is a device that is suitable to test all kinds of spun yarns. This tester is to avoid manual calculations and control system for precise measurement. Yarn Twist Tester is to measure the twist and elongation of industrial yarns. It is normally referred to as turns per inch or turns per meter. The tester is a measurement of the level of twist of the yarn and is suitable for testing single yarn. .

yarn twist tester is a precision instrument used in the textile industry to measure the amount of twist in a yarn sample. The twist, or the number of spiral turns per unit length (typically expressed as Turns Per Meter [TPM] or Turns Per Inch [TPI]), significantly influences a yarn's strength, elasticity, and texture.
Twist Measurement Techniques of Yarn - Textile Learner
Operating principle
The fundamental principle of most yarn twist testers is to untwist a pre-tensioned and clamped yarn specimen until the fibers are completely parallel. The number of turns required to achieve this is then recorded.
There are three primary methods used for measuring twist:
  • Direct counting method: The simplest method, it directly counts the number of revolutions needed to completely remove the twist from a known length of yarn. It is most suitable for plied or cabled yarns.
  • Untwist-retwist method: This is the most common method for single yarns. The tester first untwists the yarn, allowing it to extend, and then re-twists it in the opposite direction until it returns to its original length. The total number of revolutions is then divided by two to find the twist.
  • Twist contraction method: This method is based on the principle that a yarn contracts in length when twist is inserted and elongates when twist is removed.
