A digital light fastness tester evaluates the colorfastness of textiles and other materials against sunlight exposure. Its specifications include a controlled test chamber with a 500W Mercury Blended Tungsten Lamp (MBTL) as the light source, which simulates daylight conditions. The temperature within the chamber is typically maintained via a water circulation system, often held at ambient to 50C. Humidity is controlled at 50ï60% RH using cylindrical cells. The tester features a digital, pre-set timer with a buzzer, allowing for precise control of test duration. Specimen holders, often made of stainless steel, expose samples to the light source, with a moving drum ensuring uniform exposure.
